Before you start
What is pet play?
Taking on an animal persona, a pup, a kitten, a pony, and the headspace that comes with it: fewer words, simpler wants, a different way of moving. For many people it's the most relaxing thing on this list. It's a role, not a belief, and it's between adults.
What is an owner or handler?
The partner who looks after, trains and plays with a pet. Owners overlap with caregivers and with dominants but aren't either by default; the test scores owner on its own.
Is pet play sexual?
For some people, and for a lot of people not at all. Pup moshes and pet socials at community events are clothes-on, public and mostly about play and belonging. The test doesn't assume either way.
