Community rules
What's welcome here, what isn't, and what happens when a rule is broken. These apply to listings, profiles, messages and anything else posted on Hedonist.
Adults only
Hedonist is for people 18 and over. Every account attests to that, and anything that reaches another person — messaging, RSVPing, posting what you're looking for — needs a passed age check first. Anything that depicts, describes, role-plays or implies a person under 18 in a sexual context is banned and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
No explicit media
Hedonist doesn't host nudity or sexually explicit images or video. Profile photos and listing images must be suitable for a general audience.
No commercial sexual services
No advertising, soliciting, arranging or hinting at sexual services for money or anything of value. That includes escorting, paid companionship, 'sugar' arrangements and paid sessions. Classes, events, venues, gear and professional services that aren't sexual (therapists, lawyers, photographers) are fine.
Content we don't allow
- Anything non-consensual, or presented as non-consensual, including coercion, blackmail, and intoxication or sleep as a theme.
- Incest themes, including role-play framed as family.
- Bestiality.
- Blood, broken skin, mutilation or permanent harm.
- Weapons used as a threat.
- Bodily waste.
- Hate speech, or fetishizing people for their race, ethnicity, religion or disability.
- Hypnosis or mind-control themes that depict loss of consent.
- Illegal drugs, or alcohol as part of an activity.
- Threats, harassment, doxxing, or sharing anyone's private images or identity.
Be who you say you are
One account per person. No impersonation. A verified badge means an age check was passed with our verification provider. It confirms age, not identity, and it doesn't mean we vouch for someone's character, and you should still meet new people in public first.
Consent incidents
If someone you met here violated your consent, report it to us. You can describe your own experience in your own words. We review every report, we may restrict or remove accounts, and we tell you the outcome. We don't require you to go to the police first, and we won't stop you from warning others about your own first-hand experience.
Enforcement and appeals
- Every moderation action comes with the specific rule that was broken.
- You can appeal any action once, and a different reviewer will look at it.
- We publish a transparency report each year: reports received, actions taken, appeals granted.
Reports and takedowns
Use the report form on any page. Non-consensual intimate images are removed within 48 hours of a valid request. Other complaints are resolved within seven business days.
