The short version: adults only, follow the community rules, and remember that listed organizations are independent of us.
Who we are
Hedonist is operated by Number One Son Software Development [[LEGAL_ENTITY_SUFFIX e.g. LLC]], a California business, [[BUSINESS_ADDRESS]]. You can reach us at [[SUPPORT_EMAIL]]. These terms are a contract between you and that business.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and legally able to agree to these terms.
Age
What we ask for depends on what you're doing, not on whether you have an account.
Browsing the directory, taking the test, using the checklist and reading city pages needs nothing: no account, no gate beyond the notice that this is a site for adults.
Making an account needs your word that you're 18 or over. That's a self-attestation, and lying on it is a breach of these terms.
Anything that reaches another person — messaging, RSVPing to an event, posting what you're looking for — needs a passed age check with our verification provider. You choose the method; a face age estimate is the quickest, and an ID document is available if you'd rather. Whichever you choose, we receive only pass or fail, the method, the date and a reference number. We never receive the image or the document.
Directory listings
Listings describe independent third parties. Hedonist doesn't operate, supervise, vet or endorse them, doesn't sell tickets to their events, and isn't responsible for what happens at them. Details can change, so confirm everything with the organizer.
Your account
Keep your login secure, keep one account, and follow the community rules. We can restrict or close accounts that break them, with a stated reason and a right of appeal.
Paid membership
A free account can browse, keep a profile, save places, and read messages sent to you. Sending a message or saying you're interested in what someone has posted needs a paid membership: $24.95 a month, $59.00 a quarter or $149.00 a year for members, and $29.00 a month for organizers.
Plans renew automatically only if you agreed to that at checkout. You cancel online in one step from your account page and keep access to the end of the period you've paid for. Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post and give us permission to display it on Hedonist. We don't use member photos or profiles in advertising.
Deleting your account
Deletion is free and permanent. Your profile, messages and saved items are erased from live systems immediately and from backups within 30 days.
