Total power exchange
A D/s relationship that runs all the time, not just in scenes: one person's authority over the other as the shape of daily life.
Members say what they're into and what they're looking for on their card, in plain words. Browsing is free and needs no account; the faces are blurred until you join.
Total power exchange is the far end of D/s: a relationship in which the dominant's authority covers daily life, not just play, and the submissive has handed over decisions by agreement. In its fullest form, Master/slave, the handover is as complete as two people can make it. In practice every TPE couple draws the lines somewhere (work, health, children, money are common carve-outs), and the lines are what the negotiation is about.
What people in these relationships describe is not what outsiders imagine. Mostly it is quiet: a household with a clear shape, decisions made without friction, a submissive who finds freedom in not deciding and a dominant who finds meaning in being responsible. It is more structure than drama, and the couples who last at it are the ones who treat it as a marriage with extra rules.
It draws on the leather tradition, on service submission and collaring, and it is where the formal ceremonies, contracts and protocols of the scene mostly live. It is also the form of D/s most often faked online by people who want a servant; the real thing moves slowly and is built by people who already trust each other.
Signs this is you
- Scenes aren't enough; you want the dynamic to be the shape of your life.
- Deciding is a weight you'd hand over, or a responsibility you'd carry, and you know which.
- Structure, protocol and ritual are things you want more of.
- You've read about M/s relationships and recognised something.

How people do it safely
Slowly, and with exits: a relationship this total is the one where control can become abuse without anyone noticing. Keep legal independence (money, documents, a place to go). Carve out health and safety from the authority. Check in on a schedule, outside the dynamic. Anyone offering TPE to a stranger online is offering something else.

You like the shape of caring for someone who takes an animal role.

Common questions
What is the difference between TPE and 24/7?
24/7 means the dynamic runs all the time rather than in scenes. TPE means the authority covers everything (within agreed carve-outs). Most 24/7 couples are not full TPE; all TPE couples are 24/7.
Is TPE the same as Master/slave?
M/s is the fullest and most traditional form of it, with its own community and vocabulary. TPE is the broader term.
How do people keep it from becoming abuse?
Exits that stay open (money, documents, somewhere to go), carve-outs for health and safety, scheduled check-ins outside the dynamic, and a pace that lets trust be earned before authority is given.
A plain-language guide, not advice from a professional, and nothing here is better or worse than anything else. People are into several of these at once, and what fits changes over time.
