Am I a switch or just new to this?

A switch moves between leading and following and keeps doing it. Someone new is still finding out which one fits, and may well settle.

Time is the only thing that answers this, and there's no need to decide early. The honest version is: try both with people you trust, and notice which one you're looking forward to.

There is no prize for picking a lane, and describing yourself as a switch for a year and then not being one costs nothing.
